Vernid Redux [VRChat Avatar]

This is a customizable VRChat avatar based on the Vernid open species, and an upgrade from my previous Vernid avatar! This avatar comes with many customization options via shapekeys(and more to come in updates!), full facial visemes, physbones set up, and includes a .blend file, substance painter file, and a .unitypackage with some pre-set prefabs, including multiple different variants with different scale options!
This Vernid is still a work in progress, but is fully functional. The model will continue to receive updates for the forseeable future to add new customization options such as new blendshapes, scale customization, new hairstyles, and so on!
The Vernid Redux is built for VRC SDK3.
The Vernid Redux also comes with a plantigrade-rigged version for use in VRMs and Quest users.
What's Changed from the Original Vernid?
While this Vernid does look similar to the original avatar, many things have been completely redone and overhauled. The entire body from the neck down has been completely replaced, minus the tail- new feet, new hands, new torso- and new scales! This avatar has brand new, 3D-modelled scales now as an option, rather than the lower quality scales on the original that simply relied on normal maps and were notoriously a pain to texture(as their albedo always seemed to export as black.)
Of course, this does come with an increase in polycount, and as such I've included a scaleless option for those who would prefer to use the old method for scales, or simply have no scales at all.
Note that due to the changes on this model compared to the old one, old textures will not fit! You will need to make textures specific to this version.
!!!It is HIGHLY recommended to use Substance Painter to texture this avatar! Substance Painter makes avatar texturing a hundred times easier, + can easily create specular, emission, and normal maps without needing to do extra work- I use Substance Painter to texture all of my avatars, which means they DO NOT come with .PSD files! I do not texture with Photoshop, just a fair warning.!!!
!!Extra Note: While I do provide a blendshape that enables horns on this model, a Vernid with horns is referred to as a "Royal Vernid" and is a closed species. I provide this option for owners of Royal Vernids to be able to make their characters on this avatar- I mean no disrespect to the owner of the species by including this as an option. - You may customize this model however you like- you can even make public cloneable avatars with it.
- You may take commissions using this model, however if you're giving files, the other party must have also bought the model. You may also not upload commissioned avatars to the other party's account if they do not own the avatar off of Gumroad, you may only keep it as publicly cloneable on your own account. If a commissioner wants it private, they need to buy the avatar from me.
- Do not give out the model files to anyone that has not already bought and paid for it, for any reason.
- You MAY edit this model and then sell edits as bases for others to use, provided that anyone buying your base has bought the original model in the first place. You may sell mods of this model, but only to people who already own it.

5/24/22 - Re-exported and reuploaded the .unitypackage file in hopes of fixing an import error a few users were reporting that caused prefabs to have missing body meshes.
If by some chance this did not fix the issue(I have no way of knowing as this is not an issue I have experienced on my end), you can manually 'repair' the prefab by manually assigning one of the body mesh options, from "VernidBody" to "VernidBody7"(and paying attention to the filepath on the bottom to ensure you're using the version from the correct FBX, and not the planti FBX on a digi prefab for example).
Each "VernidBody" mesh has slightly different scale variations, so feel free to play around with the mesh select until you've chosen the one you're happy with.
8/19/22 - Optimization Update! With this update, the Vernid no longer uses multiple body meshes for different scale options- the scales are now controlled via blendshapes, with their polycount significantly lowered to keep the entire model, with all scales, under 70k polys. I have also deleted unused vertex groups and UVs, reshaped the hind-end area near the base of the tail, integrated GoGo Loco menus, and added some extra customization blendshapes for fur options and more feminine blendshapes.
9/5/22 - Bug Fixes! Fixed an issue that caused the viewpoint to be in the neck and the eyes to roll up in the head. I'm not even 100% sure what caused it still, but after a re-export and resetting the rig settings, everything now works fine! I've also re-added menu functionality for pupil slit and dilation, as well as added some extra controls for closed eyes, and a general mouth control puppet. Also fixed the FaceSpikes blendshape, and some strangeness with the thumb scales.
